The perfect: έχω γράψει
“I have already written”: έχω + an invariable form. The past that matters for the present — plus its big brother, the pluperfect.
Formation: έχω + the -ει form
Conjugated έχω + a frozen form built on the aorist stem: γράψει, φάει, δει. Only έχω changes: έχω γράψει, έχεις γράψει, έχει γράψει… You have met this frozen form after θα (θα γράψει) — same stem, different job.

When to prefer it to the aorist
When the result matters now: Έχω κλείσει τα εισιτήρια (done — we can go). For life experience: Έχεις πάει ποτέ στην Κρήτη; (have you ever been?). For a dated event the aorist stays king: Πέρσι πήγα στην Κρήτη.
The pluperfect: είχα γράψει
The same construction with έχω in the imperfect: είχα γράψει = I had written. For anteriority in the past: Όταν έφτασα, το τρένο είχε φύγει — when I arrived, the train had (already) left.
